The Law Library with the URL www.tllindia.com ("TLL Website") is a platform that offers for purchase, licenses to annotated templates, checklists, and other resources for use by legal practitioners in the delivery of legal services, within the framework of the authorised practice of law in India. The TLL Website is managed by TLL The Law Library Private Limited ("TLL"). TLL has its registered office at 716, Tulsiani Chambers, 212, Free Press Journal Road, Nariman Point, Mumbai - 400021, Maharashtra, India.
This Privacy Policy, along with the Terms of Use on the TLL Website, outlines how any Personally Identifiable Information that TLL collects from you, or that you provide to TLL, will be stored, processed, used, preserved, and/or shared with third parties.
Before accessing the TLL Website or submitting information, purchasing, downloading, or using the Licensed Content, you must carefully read, understand, and accept the terms of this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy forms a contract between you and TLL.
1. Definitions & Interpretations
Capitalized terms used in this Privacy Policy and not otherwise defined will have the meaning assigned to them in this clause or as defined under the Terms of Use:
1.1 "Cookie" refers to a small text file stored on your computer, browser, local system, or any device through which the TLL Website is accessed. It tracks and stores information, enabling the TLL Website to recognize you on subsequent visits. A cookie also allows the TLL Website to store your preferences and settings, enhance your overall experience, perform research and analytics, track usage and activity on the TLL Website, and assist with security and administrative functions.
1.2 "Financial Information" refers to information including information that relates to your credit card or debit card, bank account, payment method preferences, billing information, etc.
1.3 "Force Majeure Event" refers to any event that is beyond TLL's reasonable control and that which prevents TLL from fulfilling either its contractual or statutory obligations including, without limitation, network outages, server downtime, acts of a government, third-party security incidents and events, security penetration events and computer hacking, unauthorized access to computer data and storage devices, computer crashes, and any form of unlawful breach of security.
1.4 "Personally Identifiable Information" refers to information that is personal to you and allows persons, other than you, to identify you personally from such information i.e. information that personally identifies or can be used to identify, contact, or locate the owner of information including without limitation, the name, email address, postal address and contact number, which may be provided by you at the time of creating an account, placing an order on the TLL Website or in the process of contacting or communicating with TLL.
1.5 "Pixel Tags" refers to small graphics with unique identifiers embedded on a webpage, used to count or track activities on that webpage. They also access cookies stored on your computer, browser, local system, or other devices used to access the TLL Website.
1.6 "Privacy Policy" refers to this Privacy Policy including any amendments made to it from time to time.
1.7 "Terms of Use" refers to TLL’s Terms of Use on the TLL Website including any amendments made to it from time to time.
1.8 "Terms" refers to the Terms of Use, the Privacy Policy, and any other rules and policies that TLL may publish from time to time.
1.9 "You / Your" refers to any individual who, on their own behalf or on behalf of another person, accesses the TLL Website for any purpose. This includes, but is not limited to, browsing, viewing, purchasing licenses available on or through the TLL Website, submitting queries or information via the TLL Website, or using the TLL Website in any other manner.
1.10 Unless the context otherwise requires:
1.10.1 Headings are provided for convenience and reference only, and shall not affect the construction or interpretation of any provision of the Privacy Policy.
1.10.2 Unless stated otherwise, the words ‘include’ and ‘including’ will be interpreted as being without limitation.
1.10.3 References to the term ‘purchase’ are limited to the purchase of licenses and/or the use of resources available on the TLL Website as a licensee.
1.10.4 Words referring to persons will be understood to include both natural and legal persons, such as individuals, incorporated entities, and unincorporated entities.
2. Information Collected
2.1 Information You Provide:
2.1.1 You may provide Personally Identifiable Information to TLL in accordance with the provisions of the Terms.
2.1.2 By purchasing the Licensed Content, you may provide Financial Information, which may be collected and stored by TLL and/or by a third-party payment processor.
2.2 Information Automatically Collected by TLL:
2.2.1 TLL uses Cookies, Pixel Tags, and similar technologies to collect information each time you visit the TLL Website, including but not limited to the internet protocol (IP) address used to access the TLL Website, your login information, browser type and version, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, and operating system.
2.2.2 Information about your visit, including the clickstream to, through, and from the TLL Website (including date and time), Licensed Content viewed or searched for, page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), and methods used to navigate away from the page.
2.2.3 Information regarding the purchase of Licensed Content, including purchase history, membership and subscription plans (if any), complaints, reviews, queries, and feedback provided through the TLL Website's contact form or via email.
2.2.4 Information from interactions between TLL and you through emails and/or push or online messaging channels.
2.2.5 TLL may receive information and confirmations, such as payment receipts, from third parties who process your payments.
2.2.6 Any information necessary to facilitate the use and display of the TLL Website or to enhance the user experience.
2.3 Information Collected from Third-Party Service Providers:
2.3.1 TLL may use third-party services to monitor and analyze information submitted and collected under the Terms. This helps TLL operate, improve, customize, and market the Licensed Content, and understand and enhance your engagement with the TLL website. These third-party service providers may include companies that provide infrastructure, technical systems, map and location information, payment processing, etc.
2.3.2 The usage of information by such third-party service providers may include, but is not limited to:
2.3.2.1 Services to assist TLL in determining your location based on your IP address or other location identifiers.
2.3.2.2 Security services to protect your Personally Identifiable Information and secure TLL's systems.
2.3.2.3 Payment services to process Financial Information and accept and secure electronic payments.
2.3.2.4 Publicly-available sources, such as social media posts and public databases associating IP addresses with internet service providers (ISPs).
2.4 You represent that the information you provide is complete, accurate, and true in all respects. You are solely responsible for the authenticity and correctness of the information you provide.
3. Purpose and Use of information
3.1 TLL collects and processes information as submitted and collected under the Terms for the purposes of creating an account for you on the TLL Website, processing your purchases, providing customized services, and responding to your queries when you contact or communicate with TLL.
3.2 TLL may share your information with third parties for the performance of various business services, including administration, customer care, research and analysis, marketing, monitoring, measuring, and assessing user preferences and trends.
3.3 TLL may share and market your information with advertisers and/or other third parties to assist them in understanding and analyzing the effectiveness and distribution of their ads and services placed on the TLL Website or any third-party website.
3.4 TLL may use the information to contact you through push or online messaging channels to share marketing or promotional materials, make announcements about new products, or target advertisements.
3.5 In the event that TLL merges with or is acquired by another business entity, or undergoes any form of corporate restructuring, TLL may disclose or transfer some or all of your information to the other entity. Such a transaction may result in the modification of the Privacy Policy. Your continued use of the TLL Website will constitute your consent and acceptance of the modified Privacy Policy.
3.6 TLL may be compelled to disclose your information to a third party if it is under a duty to disclose or share such information to comply with any legal order or obligation under Applicable Law, enforce the Terms, or protect your rights or the rights and safety of TLL or others. This includes disclosing information to government agencies, other companies, and organizations for the purposes of preventing, detecting, and investigating fraud and/or cyber-related crimes.
4. Consent to Collect and Process Information
4.1 By accessing, browsing, and/or creating an account on the TLL Website, you expressly grant TLL permission to:
4.1.1 Collect, process, and use your information;
4.1.2 Share and transfer your information with third parties.
5. Your Rights
5.1 You have the following rights regarding your information:
5.1.1 The right to obtain information and/or confirmation regarding the processing of your information.
5.1.2 The right to correct and erase any inaccurate information inadvertently provided by you.
5.1.3 The right to restrict or prevent the continuing disclosure of your information by TLL to third parties. To exercise this right, you must notify TLL in writing at legal@tllindia.com to withdraw your consent for TLL to collect, store, process, or otherwise use your information. This right will take effect only after TLL makes the necessary changes to your account or information, following verification of your request's authenticity. However, this right does not apply retroactively to any information previously shared by TLL with third parties.
5.2 You can exercise these rights by addressing a request to the Grievance Officer.
6. Tracking of information
6.1 Your browser may be set to automatically allow Cookies. You may disable some (but not all) Cookies through the browser settings on your electronic device but doing so may limit your access to the TLL Website.
6.2 You can set your browser to block all third-party Cookies (which are those set by third-party companies collecting information from the TLL Website, block all Cookies (including first-party Cookies such as the ones TLL uses to collect search activity information about You), or block specific Cookies.
6.3 You may modify the Cookie settings on the TLL Website, by visiting the web browser’s settings.
6.4 TLL is unlikely to have control over, and assumes no responsibility for the usage of any third-party cookies placed on the TLL Website.
7. Security Precautions
7.1 TLL follows generally and commercially accepted, electronic, and administrative procedures to safeguard and prevent unauthorized access to your information, and generally to maintain data security. These safeguards take into account the sensitivity of the information that TLL collects, processes, and stores and the current state of commercially viable technology. TLL’s security measures may be reviewed and updated periodically.
7.2 TLL does not assume any liability or responsibility for the disclosure of your information on account of errors in transmission, unauthorized third-party access, or other causes beyond TLL’s control.
7.3 Notwithstanding anything contained in the Terms or elsewhere, TLL is not responsible for any loss, damage or misuse of your information, if such loss, damage or misuse is attributable to: negligence by you or by any third-party to whom TLL has provided the information based on the express consent granted under the Terms, individual acts of criminality, or a Force Majeure Event.
8. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution.
8.1 The Terms are governed by the laws of India, without giving effect to any conflict of law principles in any jurisdiction in which the TLL Website may be accessed.
8.2 Any dispute arising out of or in connection with the Terms, including any question regarding its existence, validity, or termination, will be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration. The seat and venue of the arbitration will be Mumbai, India. The tribunal will consist of one arbitrator, either mutually appointed by the parties or under the procedure of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The arbitration will be conducted in English. The law governing this arbitration agreement will be the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (as amended and re-enacted at the relevant time).
9. Miscellaneous.
9.1 The forbearance by TLL to enforce any provisions of the Terms will not constitute a waiver of any right under the Terms or Applicable Law or of any subsequent enforcement of that or any other provisions. If a competent court holds any provision of the Terms invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions of the Terms will remain in full force and effect, and the provision affected will be construed so as to be enforceable to the maximum extent permissible by law.
9.2 TLL reserves the right to make changes to the Terms without any express and specific intimation to you. Your continued use of the TLL Website will constitute your consent and acceptance of such updated Terms.
10. Grievance Redressal.
10.1 You may address grievances to legal@tllindia.com. TLL is available to address grievances between 11:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M IST from Monday to Friday, except for public holidays.
10.2 TLL will endeavour to address your grievances within a period of 72 hours (excluding intervening non-working days) from the receipt of your email.

11. Effective Date.
The Terms and any amendments thereto will be effective from the date the Terms were first published.
